Here are the answers to some questions we get a lot:
Q. Why “elephant” tracks?
Because we love elephants, which is why we give all profits from this site to organizations dedicated to keeping these majestic beasts alive and healthy.
Q. What do elephants have to do with rap beats?
Nothing, really, other than the fact that we’re big fans of both, and they’re both freakin’ sweet.
Q. Who makes the beats?
We do, at least right now. But we accept donations from any producer who wants in on Elephant Tracks.
Q. Are the beats really free, no strings attached?
Yeah, they’re free to use record over or make any kind of music. The ONLY thing we don’t allow is people downloading our tracks and then trying to sell them – as rap beats. That’s not cool, bro, and we’ll come after you like the Kenya Wildlife Service goes after poachers.
Q. Can I use the beats for commercial purposes?
Totes. For example, you can rap over one of our beats and then sell it as your own song. We’re fine with that.
Q. Is there anything I can’t do with the beats?
Like we said, just one thing: you can’t download our free beats and then sell them on some other website.
Q. Can I buy an exclusive license for these beats?
Yes, you can buy exclusive rights to a beat for a flat fee of $500/track. If you’re interested, email us with your info and the name of the track(s) you want.
Q. Can I get the “tracked out” version of a beat (individual tracks for each instrument)?
Nah, we don’t do that right now. Maybe in the future. We’ll keep you updated.
Okay, if you really want it AND have the budget for exclusive rights ($500/track), we’ll hook you up, but this is only possible on certain tracks.
Feel free to hit us up.
Q. Is this really a nonprofit organization?
We’re not “official” since we aren’t organized as a 501c3. But we do give all profits (after paying business expenses) away to help elephants.
Q. Why are you so obsessed with elephants?
Why are you asking so many questions, bruh? Jk, we just love them. Ever since we saw our first wild elephant on safari in Kenya, we were hooked.
They’re huge and smart and playful. Did you know that elephants mourn the loss of their family members, just like we do?
You can even ride elephants, and doing so can help even the most average person achieve instant baller status.
Q. Who are you?
Just some elephant enthusiasts who love making rap beats, yo. If you need to know more, read this.
